Dr. Browder & Staff Complete Advanced Training in Sedation Dentistry

You don’t need to be afraid of going to the dentist anymore!!! For many Americans, going to the dentist is a frightful event, even though dentistry has changed tremendously in the past several years. A visit to the dentist can now be relaxing and fun. Unfortunately, this is not enough for the approximately 145 million people who avoid the dentist due to fear.

Advance dentist Dr. Thomas S. Browder and his caring clinical staff recently completed special training that allows them to treat these fearful people. Prompted by recent changes in the law enacted by the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners regarding sedation dentistry, Dr. Browder and team spent three days learning better how to manage and keep people comfortable using oral sedation. Dr. Browder comments, “I have always been very sensitive to my patients with high fear and apprehension. Now I can offer them a safer and more comfortable experience. I feel many people are avoiding needed care due to fear. I look forward to helping these people receive much needed dental care with this safe and wonderful technique of anxiety-free dentistry.”

Dr. Browder is a member of the fastest growing organization of its kind in dentistry, the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation – DOCS. The purpose of DOCS is to provide the education necessary for dentists to provide needed care in a safe and comfortable environment to the large population of people who are avoiding the dentist. “Dentistry is very high tech today with all sorts of gadgets and techniques that get the job done better and quicker, but now with anxiety-free dentistry I can bridge the gap between technology and comfort,” said Dr. Browder. He added, “You should see the look on the faces of patients when they complete their care and they have a healthy mouth and don’t even remember having the treatment done.”

In addition to receiving advanced training in sedation dentistry, Dr. Browder and his team received updates on the management of serious and life threatening medical emergencies. Although he feels fortunate to never have experienced a serious emergency in his practice, Dr. Browder and his staff are equipped and prepared to handle most any situation. “It never hurts to be prepared,” he stated.

Dr. Browder and his team are proud of their commitment to our community and to quality dental care. They can be reached at 336.998.9988 with any questions regarding anxiety-free dentistry or any other aspect of family, cosmetic, or reconstructive dentistry. Emma Slabach, Famous sport stacking niece of Dr. Browder, wins coveted RELLY AWARD in New York

Next time you throw a big dinner party and need some pretty fast hands to help out with the cleaning duties, give Emma Slabach a call.  For the past year, Emma, niece of Dr. Browder, has been tearing up the record books with the latest rage called Sport Stacking.  In case you haven’t seen or heard about it, you take a stack of special plastic cups and as quickly as possible stack them up into different configurations only to then tear them back down again into simple stacks.

Just how good is Emma?  Well, this past April in Denver, Colorado at the World Sport Stacking Championships, she literally blew the competition away and now holds all three world records for her age group.  Since that time Emma has made numerous guest appearances on news shows, daytime talk shows, mall events, newspapers, and promotional flyers.  Her latest honor came on September 22nd at the annual Relly Awards that were held in New York City.  Named after hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa, Emma won in the category of “Best Junior Achiever” and was selected based on voting results from viewers from across the country.  Escorted by her Mother Angie Slabach and Aunt LuAnn Parker, she walked the red carpet and was even interviewed by Joan Rivers.

So what’s next for Emma?  Well, Dr. Browder has promised her a position in his office one day.  Imagine getting your teeth cleaned by the fastest fingers in the world!!  In the meantime, Emma will continue to do promotional  appearances when not attending kindergarten at Shady Grove Elementary.  And at night, she always gets to clean and stack the dishes!!!
